Sub-Index for Critical Points of Distance Functions [PDF]
Morse theory is based on the idea that a smooth function on a manifold yields data about the topology of the manifold. In this way it provides a tool for visualizing the shape of a space.

Long‐term hippocampal alterations and cognitive impairment in a murine model of surgical sepsis
Using a mouse model of surgical sepsis, we tested long‐term memory and analyzed the transcriptome of single cells isolated from the hippocampus. Survivor mice showed worse memory, loss of certain brain cell subpopulations, and abnormal immune cell activity—suggesting that post‐sepsis brain alterations may be linked to cognitive deficits.

Are non-use values distance-independent? Identifying the market area using a choice modelling experiment [PDF]
This article tests for the effect of distance on non-use values using a Choice Modelling (CM) experiment. Estimating a distance decay relationship for non-use values (NUVs) is important because it would define the market area for an environmental good, i.

Possible approximation and necessary distance between Frankfurtian critical theory and psychoanalysis of Enriquez [PDF]
The aim of this paper is to reflect on the relationship between frankfurtean critical theory (Adorno, Horkheimer and Marcuse) and the psychoanalysis of Enriquez.

Tensionless strings and the weak gravity conjecture
We test various conjectures about quantum gravity for six-dimensional string compactifications in the framework of F-theory. Starting with a gauge theory coupled to gravity, we analyze the limit in Kähler moduli space where the gauge coupling tends to ...

Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Negative Data in DEA: A Simple Proportional Distance Function Approach [PDF]
The need to adapt Data Development Analysis (DEA) and other frontier models in the context of negative data has been a rather neglected issue in the literature.
