Research into recruitment: Critical gaps in the literature
International Review of Psychiatry, 2013The aim of this paper is to systematically review the literature available internationally on recruitment into psychiatry. A 5-stage search strategy was followed to identify all relevant studies published between 1999-2012. These were then critically appraised using a standardized tool, and the results summarized. A total of 128 studies were identified.

Critical Exponent for Gap Filling at Crisis
Physical Review Letters, 1996A crisis in chaotic dynamical systems is characterized by the conversion of a nonattracting, Cantorset-like chaotic saddle into a chaotic attractor. The gaps in between various pieces of the chaotic saddle are densely filled after the crisis. We give a quantitative scaling theory for the growth of the topological entropy for a major class of crises ...

Closing a gap in the spectrum of critical sets [PDF]
A Latin square of order \(n\) is an \((n,n)\)-array where each cell is occupied by an element of a certain \(n\)-set (the alphabet), and such that each row and each column is a permutation of the alphabet. The definition of a partial Latin square is intuitively clear. The size \(s\) of a partial Latin square is the number of its cells.

A method is derived which estimates the probability distribution of the critical gaps of those drivers entering a main road at a priority junction who have rejected the initial lag offered to them, using observations of the sizes of the gaps refused and that eventually accepted by the driver.
