Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Existence of three solutions for higher order BVP with parameters via Morse theory

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2016
We prove the existence of at least three solutions to a general Lidstone problem using the Morse Theory.

Open-lung ventilation versus no ventilation during cardiopulmonary bypass in an innovative animal model of heart transplantation

open access: yesIntensive Care Medicine Experimental
Open-lung ventilation during cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) in patients undergoing heart transplantation (HTx) is a potential strategy to mitigate postoperative acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).

Critical Groups of Graphs with Dihedral Actions II

open access: yes, 2016
In this paper we consider the critical group of finite connected graphs which admit harmonic actions by the dihedral group Dn, extending earlier work by the author and Criel Merino.

Monte Carlo analysis of critical phenomenon of the Ising model on memory stabilizer structures

open access: yes, 2009
We calculate the critical temperature of the Ising model on a set of graphs representing a concatenated three-bit error-correction code. The graphs are derived from the stabilizer formalism used in quantum error correction.

Bridging the gap: Multi‐stakeholder perspectives of molecular diagnostics in oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Although molecular diagnostics is transforming cancer care, implementing novel technologies remains challenging. This study identifies unmet needs and technology requirements through a two‐step stakeholder involvement. Liquid biopsies for monitoring applications and predictive biomarker testing emerge as key unmet needs. Technology requirements vary by

Multiple solutions of nonlinear fractional elliptic equations via Morse theory

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2017
This article concerns the existence and multiplicity of weak solutions of the nonlinear fractional elliptic problem. We extend some well known results of semilinear Laplacian equations to the nonlocal fractional setting. Using the variational methods

Effects of red blood cell transfusion on patients undergoing cardiac surgery in Queensland – a retrospective cohort study

open access: yesJournal of Cardiothoracic Surgery
Background Packed red blood cell (pRBC) transfusion is a relatively safe and mainstay treatment commonly used in cardiac surgical patients. However, there is limited evidence on clinical effects of transfusing blood nearing end-of shelf life that has ...

The “here and now” of youth: the meanings of smoking for sexual and gender minority youth

open access: yesHarm Reduction Journal, 2018
