Multiplicity results for the Kirchhoff type equation via critical groups

open access: yesBoundary Value Problems, 2018
In this paper, we will compute critical groups at zero for the Kirchhoff type equation using the property that critical groups are invariant under homotopies preserving isolatedness of critical points.

Critical Thinking in Groups

open access: yesJournal of Leadership Education, 2009
It gladdened my heart when the faculty of organizational leadership at my university agreed to require a course in critical thinking. The evidence had been mounting that one way we could prepare students to participate in leadership without knowing precisely what they would be asked to do in the workplace was to develop their powers of critical ...

Existence and multiplicity of solutions for a class of superlinear p-Laplacian equations

open access: yesAdvances in Nonlinear Analysis
In this work, we investigate a class of pp-Laplacian equations with the Dirichlet boundary condition. Under some new conditions, the existence and multiplicity of nontrivial solutions are proved by means of the variational methods.

The tacnode Riemann-Hilbert problem

open access: yes, 2013
The tacnode Riemann-Hilbert problem is a 4 x 4 matrix valued RH problem that appears in the description of the local behavior of two touching groups of non-intersecting Brownian motions. The same RH problem was also found by Duits and Geudens to describe

Existence of nontrivial solutions for a class of biharmonic equations with singular potential in RN $\mathbb{R}^{N}$

open access: yesBoundary Value Problems, 2018
In this paper, we study a class of biharmonic equations with a singular potential in RN $\mathbb{R}^{N}$. Under appropriate assumptions on the nonlinearity, we establish some existence results via the Morse theory and variational methods.

Critical sets in the elementary abelian 2- and 3- groups

open access: yes, 2004
In 1998, Khodkar showed that the minimal critical set in the Latin square corresponding to the elementary abelian 2-group of order 16 is of size at most 124.
