Diversity of Collembola on Various Post-Rehabilitation Land Covers

open access: yesJurnal Manajemen Hutan Tropika
The success of rehabilitation has altered environmental conditions from critical land to new habitats for living organisms. One of the representative and sensitive mesofauna to environmental changes is Collembola.

Normal State Properties of Quantum Critical Metals at Finite Temperature

open access: yesPhysical Review X, 2020
We study the effects of finite temperature on normal state properties of a metal near a quantum critical point to an antiferromagnetic or Ising-nematic state. At T=0, bosonic and fermionic self-energies are traditionally computed within Eliashberg theory,

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Estimation of Critical Properties of Eucalyptol, Alpha-Terpineol, Limonene, and Caryophyllene in Eucalyptus Oil (Melaleuca leucadendra) Using the Group Contribution Method

open access: yesJurnal Rekayasa Kimia & Lingkungan
Critical property estimation of compounds in eucalyptus oil has been conducted using the Group Contribution method to improve the accuracy of calculations of critical temperature (Tc), critical volume (Vc), critical pressure (Pc), and normal boiling ...

Biophysical approaches for studying viral entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Viruses infect all living organisms and have been responsible for major epidemics and pandemics. Their ongoing evolutionary battle with host defenses creates a constant need for improved tools to study viral behavior. Advancing methods to probe viral attachment, fusion, and genome release deepen our understanding of how infections begin and support the

Influence of the critical parameters on the density estimate of some fatty acids by the Rackett's method.

open access: yesGrasas y Aceites, 1999
In this work a comparative study is carried out of the critical properties of temperature and pressure applied for the palmitic, stearic and oleic fatty acids, provided by different bibliographical sources.

Reliable extraction of energy landscape properties from critical force distributions

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2020
The structural dynamics of a biopolymer is governed by a process of diffusion through its conformational energy landscape. In pulling experiments using optical tweezers, features of the energy landscape can be extracted from the probability distribution ...

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.
