Eliciting usage contexts of safety-critical medical devices [PDF]
This position paper outlines our approach to improve the usage choice of suitable devices in different health care environments (contexts). Safety-critical medical devices are presumed to have undergone a thorough (user-centred) design process to ...

A Critical Review of Properties of Darunavir and Analytical Methods for Its Determination [PDF]
Darunavir is a synthetic non-peptidic protease inhibitor that has been shown to be extremely potent against wild-type HIV, and it is an important component of highly active antiretroviral treatment (HAART), which is considered as one of the most ...

This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Automated identification of safety-critical attacks against CPS and generation of assurance case fragments [PDF]
Ensuring the safety of cyber-physical systems (CPS) against cyber security threats is essential in safety-critical sectors. To this end, the systematic derivation of clear and robust safety claims is needed to demonstrate that safety properties are ...

Critical Properties of Metal-Containing Ionic Liquids [PDF]
A group contribution method developed by Valderrama and Robles in 2007 is updated and extended to calculate the critical properties, the normal boiling temperature, and the acentric factor of metal-containing ionic liquids (MILs).

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

The ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy as guardians of the cellular proteome
This Perspective covers the three principles governing the crosstalk between the ubiquitin‐proteasome system and autophagy in cellular proteostasis: (1) a shared ubiquitin code routing substrates via shuttle factors or autophagy receptors; (2) spatial compartmentalization into phase‐separated degradation hubs and organelle‐specific modules (exemplified
