This paper provides a qualitative and quantitative comparative analysis of translation of non-standard language in Irvine Welsh's novel Trainspotting (1993) into Russian and Croatian. Trainspotting is Welsh's most famous work, and it gained cult status followed by the release of the film with the same title in 1996.
