Abstract 1. Body temperature of Crocodylus johnstoni and C. porosus were recorded using radio telemetry. 2. Mean preferred temperature ranges were similar for both species, but those of C. johnstoni (31·3-32·5°C) were slightly lower than those found of C. porosus (32·0–33·1°C). 3. Little variation occurred in the mean daily body temperature.
