The influence of cutting height on arthropods in farm grassland
Mowing at a cutting height of 13 cm slightly reduced the immediate negative impact of mowing compared to mowing at a height of 7 cm. Medium‐term effects overrode this benefit: the number of vegetation‐dwelling arthropods remained strongly reduced two and four weeks after mowing, regardless of the cutting height.

Land cover heterogeneity drives grassland arthropod diversity in spring, while local management intensity becomes the primary driver in autumn, revealing strong seasonal shifts in environmental influences. Landscape‐scale farming intensity significantly shapes arthropod community composition through balanced variation, demonstrating its role as an ...

Grassland fragmentation effects on cavity‐nesting Hymenoptera are habitat‐specific. Isolated sand steppe fragments are associated with higher brood‐cell abundance. In loess steppes, higher flower frequency increases bee brood‐cell production and parasitoid activity. Abstract The global decline in insects threatens ecosystem functioning, but the drivers

Neglected Conflicts Induce Negative Consequences on Displaced Persons and Host Families
ABSTRACT Conflict studies disproportionately focus on internally displaced persons (IDPs) and refugees, largely side‐lining host community and family dynamics in neglected conflict contexts. We use the sustainable livelihoods capital portfolios to compare changes among IDPs and host families (HFs) of the neglected Anglophone conflict in Cameroon ...

ABSTRACT Reliable laboratory rearing of Frankliniella occidentalis is critical for experimental consistency in entomological research. This study validates and optimises three small‐scale rearing systems initiated from a single female thrips using various organic fruits, flowers and pollen as feed, along with moist cotton, blotting paper and ...
