Future tools for association mapping in crop plants.
Genome, 2010Association mapping currently relies on the identification of genetic markers. Several technologies have been adopted for genetic marker analysis, with single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) being the most popular where a reasonable quantity of genome sequence data are available. We describe several tools we have developed for the discovery, annotation,

Weed population in citrus based cropping system as affected by crops association
Moor Journal of Agricultural Research, 2008Intercropping studies were conducted with Sweet Orange (Citrus sinensis L. Osbeck Cv. Agege 1) between 1996 and 1999 at the National Horticultural Research Institute, Ibadan Nigeria. The objective was to investigate the effect of different intercropping system on weed dynamics in citrus (ct) based cropping system.

Begomoviruses Associated with Horticultural Crops
2017The horticultural crops are severely threatened by many insects, pests and diseases. In this backdrop, viral diseases assume much greater significance as most of these viral diseases are transmitted through insects. The source of resistance for these viral diseases is scanty.

Insects Associated with Cover Crops in Massachusetts
Biological Agriculture & Horticulture, 1990Insect faunae were evaluated for ten cover crops grown in two replicated trials. Five crops were assessed in the principal experiment: (1)Faba bean, Vicia faba L.

Association of Predaceous Hemiptera with Selected Crops
Environmental Entomology, 1998The abundance of predatory hemipterans within 4 crops-soybean, Clycine max (L.); corn, Zea mays L.: tomato, Lycopersicum esculentum Miller; and tobacco, Nicotiana tabacum L-was studied in small plots its 1992 and 1993. Predatory hemipteran populations varied among the crops despite the close proximity of the various crops.

Changes in wireworm population associated with cropping
Annals of Applied Biology, 1945Data are given to show that the rate of decline of the wireworm population associated with a root crop is not significantly greater than that associated with a cereal crop. Data are given on the wireworm populations of adjoining ley plots over 3‐5 successive years, and indicate a slow rate of increase during the early years.

Insects associated with the potato crop in Kenya
Tropical Pest Management, 1991Abstract Seventy species of insects were found on potato; 52 of them were pests and 17 were predators of those pests. Their importance as pests and predators is discussed.

Soil factors associated with zinc deficiency in crops and humans
Environmental Geochemistry and Health, 2009Zinc deficiency is the most ubiquitous micronutrient deficiency problem in world crops. Zinc is essential for both plants and animals because it is a structural constituent and regulatory co-factor in enzymes and proteins involved in many biochemical pathways. Millions of hectares of cropland are affected by Zn deficiency and approximately one-third of

Crop Health Improvement with Groundnut Associated Bacteria
2011Groundnut-associated bacterial strains have been studied for their ability to improve growth and yield. Different parts of plants such as rhizosphere, phyllosphere, and spermosphere are rich in beneficial microbes. The beneficial bacteria range from nodule-forming Bradyrhizobium and Rhizobium to free-living plant-growth promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR ...
