Estimation of water requirement of Banana crop under drip irrigation with and without plastic mulch using dual crop coefficient approach

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Earth and Environment, 2019
Field experiments were conducted on the lateritic sandy loam soil and sub-humid climate of Kharagpur, West Bengal, India during 2014-2018 for two consecutive crop seasons to determine the optimum water requirement of the Banana crop under drip irrigation

Thermoelectric Modules Incorporating MgAgSb and Mg3(Sb,Bi)2 Synthesized Using a Melting Method

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A scalable synthesis method for a thermoelectric material of MgAgSb is established. A thermoelectric power module of MgAgSb/Mg3(Sb,Bi)2 is fabricated, showing the conversion efficiency of 7.4% at ΔT = 315 K. The performance is comparable to conventional Bi2Te3 modules when they are operated with an air‐cooled heat exchanger.

Improving the Accuracy of Seasonal Crop Coefficients in Grapevine from Sentinel-2 Data

open access: yesRemote Sensing
Accurate assessment of a crop’s water requirement is essential for optimising irrigation scheduling and increasing the sustainability of water use. The crop coefficient (Kc) is a dimensionless factor that converts reference evapotranspiration (ET0) into ...

Crop water requirement (ETc) of different crops of middle Gujarat

open access: yesJournal of Agrometeorology, 2016
Accurate estimation of crop water requirements (ETc) of any crop is essentially required for irrigation scheduling and water management. The present study was undertaken to estimate the crop water requirement (ETc) of ten major crops (rice, wheat, maize,

Spectral Crop Coefficient Approach for Estimating Daily Crop Water Use

open access: yesAdvances in Remote Sensing, 2014
While the amount of water used by a crop can be measured using lysimeters or eddy covariance systems, it is more common to estimate this quantity based on weather data and crop-related factors. Among these approaches, the standard crop coefficient method has gained widespread use.

Remotely sensing wheat maturation with radar [PDF]

open access: yes
The scattering properties of wheat were studied in the 8-18 GHz band as a function of frequency, polarization, incidence angle, and crop maturity. Supporting ground truth was collected at the time of measurement.

Evaluation of the Dual Crop Coefficient Approach in Estimating Evapotranspiration of Drip-Irrigated Summer Maize in Xinjiang, China

open access: yesWater, 2019
A dual crop coefficient approach was validated experimentally to estimate evapotranspiration of drip-irrigated summer maize with partial mulch and no mulch in an arid region in Aksu, Xinjiang, China, during 2016–2017.

Distribution of Electrical Resistivity in Single Carbon Fiber Filaments and Its Correlation With Tensile Modulus

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A statistical framework is applied to quantify the distribution of electrical resistivity among individual filaments of two commercially available carbon fiber types. Correlations between filament resistivity, tensile modulus, and diameter are examined and complemented by TEM analysis to provide new insight into filament‐level variability relevant for ...
