High-resolution measurements of scattering in wheat canopies-implications for crop parameter retrieval [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Polarimetric X- and C-band measurements by the University of Sheffield ground-based synthetic aperture radar(GB-SAR)indoor system provide three-dimensional images of the scattering processes in wheat canopies, at resolutions of around a wavelength (3–6 ...

Evaluating the Crop Coefficient for Cherries Plants in Michigan State

open access: yes, 2023
Crop coefficient for cherries was evaluated by measure the water consumption in Michigan State to find its variation with time as the plant growth. Crop coefficients value (Kc) for cherries were predicated by Michigan State University (MSU) and also by ...

New Evapotranspiration Crop Coefficients [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Irrigation and Drainage Division, 1982
Improved crop coefficients for various Pacific Northwest irrigated crops were developed for estimating crop evapotranspiration (ET) from estimates or measurements of reference ET. Reference ET was based on that for well watered, actively growing alfalfa with sufficient growth for near maximum ET in arid, irrigated regions.

Water requirement of pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) for Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra State, India

open access: yesJournal of Agrometeorology, 2011
The study was carried out to estimate reference crop evapotranspiration, develop crop coefficients and wetted area factors; and estimate crop evapotranspiration of pomegranate for Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra State.

Simulation of crop evapotranspiration and crop coefficients with data in weighing lysimeters [PDF]

open access: yesAgricultural Water Management, 2016
Abstract Accurate quantification of crop evapotranspiration (ET) is critical to optimizing irrigation water productivity, especially, in the semiarid regions of the world where limited rainfall is supplemented by irrigation for crop production. In this context, cropping system models are potential tools for predicting ET or crop water requirements in

Estimation of actual crop evapotranspiration and supplemental irrigation for Aman rice cultivation in the northern part of Bangladesh

open access: yesFundamental and Applied Agriculture, 2019
The study was conducted to estimate the trend of actual crop water requirement and supplemental irrigation needed for a popular high yielding aman rice variety, i.e., BR11 grown in Rajshahi and Rangpur districts of northern Bangladesh.

Roots contribute more to refractory soil organic matter than above-ground crop residues, as revealed by a long-term field experiment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We revisited the well documented and ongoing long-term 'Ultuna continuous soil organic matter field experiment' which started in 1956 at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences.

Lisímetro de pesagem de grande porte. parte II: consumo hídrico do coqueiro anão verde irrigado Large-scale weighing lysimeter. part II: water requirements of the irrigated dwarf-green coconut

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.
