Predicting Plant Height of Greenhouse Grown Crops with a Polynomial Growth Rate Model
Biometrical Journal, 1998Summary: A prediction model for the growth of plant height is developed, using polynomials in time to describe the growth rate. The growth rate is affected by forcing factors through the polynomial coefficients. A random slope model is used to describe the difference in growth rate for plants grown under similar conditions. Maximum likelihood estimates

Crop growth rate and the establishment of sink size: a comparison of maize and soybean
Journal of Crop Improvement, 2019ABSTRACTThe effect of species-specific reproductive characteristics on the relationship between seeds per unit area and crop growth rate (CGR) was evaluated by comparing maize (Zea mays L.) and soybean (Glycine max L. Merrill). CGR, seeds m−2, and seed size (mg seed−1) data from the literature (maize, N = 61; soybean N = 115) were used.

Apple diameter and fruit growth rate at tree crop loads
2018Fruit thinning is indispensable practice in production of large sized and good quality apple fruits. Often problems are light and late thinning. Intensity and late thinning were evaluated in trail settled near Zadar, Croatia, on apple cv. ‘Cripps Pink’ grafted on M9 rootstock and cultivated at spindle-type system.

Tuber Crop Growth Model, Performance Rate, and Some Characterization Theorems
2018Geometric and exponential distributions may be used for modeling number of tubers and yield of crop. Geometric distribution is discrete version of appropriate exponential distribution and both the distributions have memoryless property. We model a real dataset on number of potato tubers arising from a growth experiment conducted in Giridih farmland and
