ARE CROP YIELDS NORMALLY DISTRIBUTED? [PDF]
This paper revisits the issue of crop yield distributions using improved model specifications, estimation and testing procedures that address the methodological concerns raised in recent literature that could have invalidated previous conclusions of ...

Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Digital images for assessing soil cover of crop plants [PDF]
The main drawback by using crop soil cover in weed harrowing research is that it is assessed by visual scores, which are biased and context dependent. This problem may be solved by using digital image analysis.

Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Trends and climate response in the yield of staple crops across Northeast China
Understanding how climate change has been affecting crop yield is a prerequisite to inform adaptation decisions and to ensure global food security. The Northeast China (NEC), located in high-latitude area, is significantly affected by climate change ...

Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Current benefits of wildfire smoke for yields in the US Midwest may dissipate by 2050
Wildfires throughout western North America produce smoke plumes that can stretch across the agricultural regions of the American Midwest. Climate change may increase the number and size of these fires and subsequent smoke plumes.

Weeds and crop yields under conservation tillage in organic farming. [PDF]
Conservation tillage in conventional agriculture tends to make the cropping systems more dependent on herbicides. Organic farming principles could solve this problem. However, direct drilling under a cover crop in organic farming remains difficult.

Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.
