Clover seed production - in organic and conventional cropping systems [PDF]
White clover (Trifolium repens L.) is an important component in grassland mixtures and as a green manure crop. Since Denmark has excellent conditions for white clover seed production and holds the position of the largest producer within the EU emphasis ...

Automated poultry processing lines still rely on humans to lift slippery, easily bruised carcasses onto a shackle conveyor. Deformability, anatomical variance, and hygiene rules make conventional suction and scripted motions unreliable. We present ChicGrasp, an end‐to‐end hardware‐software co‐designed imitation learning framework, to offer a ...

Photosynthetic acclimation to temperature is affected by night temperature in Zea mays
In this study, Zea mays L. was grown in indoor controlled environment chambers with a uniform daytime temperature of 30°C, and night-time temperatures of 30, 25, 20, or 15°C.

Kandyan forest gardens are typical examples of perennial mixed cropping systems in SriLanka. However due to the nonsystematic cropping of these units the Delpitiya MixedCropping Model (DELMIX) was developed and planted in 1978 on eroded tea land. Yielddata of DELMIX indicate that yields of all the crops increased with the time.

Modular, Textile‐Based Soft Robotic Grippers for Agricultural Produce Handling
This article introduces textile‐based pneumatic grippers that transform simple textiles into robust bending actuators. Detailed experiments uncover how cut geometry and fabric selection shape performance. Successful handling of fragile agricultural items showcases the potential of textile robotics for safe, scalable automation in food processing and ...

Soil health benefits of perennial biofuel crops on claypan soils
Claypan depth is one of the most significant drivers of variable soil productivity across different agricultural cropping systems in claypan soils, and the benefits of perennial biofuel cropping systems have been a topic of interest for decades.

No Till and Organic Farming Improve Soil Properties but Reduce Crop Yield Compared to Conventional Farming in a Swiss Farm Network [PDF]
Soils are of vital importance for sustainable food production. In order to maintain or improve soil quality, it is necessary to develop strategies for a sustainable use of soil.

Using iPSC‐derived motoneurons and postmortem tissue from FUS‐ALS patients, it is demonstrated that increased mitochondrial transcription leads to elevated cytosolic double‐stranded RNA (dsRNA) levels. This aberrant accumulation activates a RIG‐I–dependent innate immune response leading to neurodegeneration, which is amenable for FDA‐ and EMA‐approved ...

Soil phosphorus (P) budgets, P availability and P use efficiencies in conventional and organic cropping systems of the DOK trial [PDF]
Cropping systems rely on the provision of adequate amounts of phosphorus (P) to enable stable crop yields. A balanced application of P is necessary to avoid reduced crop yields (in case of too low application rates), but also to avoid P losses to other ...
