Integration of Spatiotemporal Multi‐Omics in Peach Fruit Unravels a Metabolic Niche and the Genetic Basis of Trichome‐Mediated Stress Adaptation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study constructed the first spatiotemporal multi‐omics map of peach fruit and discovered a key candidate gene that synergistically regulates trichome development and drought tolerance through the jasmonic acid signaling pathway, providing insights into the coupling mechanism between development and stress resistance.

Microbial functional diversity indicators in vineyard soils under organic and biodynamic land management

open access: yesChemical and Biological Technologies in Agriculture
Background An on-vineyard approach was used to investigate the effects of biodynamic (BD) preparations on microbial functional diversity and extracellular polymeric substances (EPS) in four vineyards on different bedrocks under organic management ...

FORECASTING YIELD AND PROFITABILITY OF MAIZE CROPPING SYSTEM USING SIMULATION MODELS IN UASIN GISHU, KENYA

open access: yes
Simulation models have been used successfully to forecast productivity of cropping systems under various weather, management and policy scenarios. These models have helped farmers make efficient resource allocation decisions. However, in Kenya simulation

Ecological Adaptation Mechanisms Underlying Successful Plant Reproduction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
During floral induction, various environmental and endogenous signals converge to regulate the florigen protein, which is transported from leaves to the SAM to initiate flowering. Within the SAM, a complex network of receptor kinases and small peptides orchestrates floral development with high spatiotemporal precision.

Photosynthetic acclimation to temperature is affected by night temperature in Zea mays

open access: yesPhotosynthetica
In this study, Zea mays L. was grown in indoor controlled environment chambers with a uniform daytime temperature of 30°C, and night-time temperatures of 30, 25, 20, or 15°C.

Redox‐Dependent Chaperoning of GBF1 Condensates Regulates Seed Germination in Arabidopsis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In dormant seeds (low ROS), GBF1 forms liquid condensates to repress the germination gene CathB3, and the chaperone GIP1 maintains condensate liquidity and repressive activity. Upon imbibition (high ROS), ROS oxidize GIP1 during germination, impairing its chaperone function.

Risk Analysis of Organic Cropping Systems in Minnesota

open access: yes
When all strategies received conventional market prices, 4-year cropping sequences had greater net returns than 2-year sequences, and the organic input, 4-year strategy had the highest net return.

Nanoscale Spatial Organization of ARC High‐ and Low‐Order Assemblies at Excitatory Synapses

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ARC (Activity‐Regulated Cytoskeleton‐Associated protein) mediates synaptic plasticity by forming nanoscale assemblies in neurons. Using super‐resolution microscopy and time‐resolved anisotropy with targeted tagging, the study reveals low‐order ARC assemblies at synapses colocalizing with AMPARs, semi‐circular structures at endocytic zones, and 60–80 nm

Soil health benefits of perennial biofuel crops on claypan soils

open access: yesSoil Security
Claypan depth is one of the most significant drivers of variable soil productivity across different agricultural cropping systems in claypan soils, and the benefits of perennial biofuel cropping systems have been a topic of interest for decades.
