Amplification and cross-Kerr nonlinearity in waveguide quantum electrodynamics [PDF]
We explore amplification and cross-Kerr nonlinearity by a three-level emitter (3LE) embedded in a waveguide and driven by two light beams. The coherent amplification and cross-Kerr nonlinearity were demonstrated in recent experiments, respectively, with a V and a ladder-type 3LE coupled to an open superconducting transmission line carrying two ...

Enhancing Third- and Fifth-Order Nonlinearity via Tunneling in Multiple Quantum Dots
The nonlinearity of semiconductor quantum dots under the condition of low light levels has many important applications. In this study, linear absorption, self-Kerr nonlinearity, fifth-order nonlinearity and cross-Kerr nonlinearity of multiple quantum ...

Entanglement Purification for Logic-Qubit of Photon System Based on Parity Check Measurement Gate
It has been found that logic-qubit entanglement has great potential for applications in quantum communication and quantum networks in recent years. However, along with the effects of noise and decoherence, the fidelity of the communication transmission ...

Experimental demonstration of cavity-free optical isolators and optical circulators
Cavity-free optical nonreciprocity components, which have an inherent strong asymmetric interaction between the forward- and backward-propagation direction of the probe field, are key to produce such as optical isolators and circulators. According to the

Photonic two-qubit parity gate with tiny cross–Kerr nonlinearity [PDF]
The cross-Kerr nonlinearity (XKNL) effect can induce efficient photon interactions in principle with which photonic multiqubit gates can be performed using far fewer physical resources than linear optical schemes. Unfortunately, it is extremely challenging to generate giant cross-Kerr nonlinearities.

Entanglement transfer via cross-Kerr nonlinearity
We propose a scheme for realizing entanglement transfer based on the cross-Kerr nonlinear interaction between field-modes. By using this scheme the entanglement can be transferred from the field-states with discrete variables to the field-states with continuous variables.

Observation of a large, resonant, cross-Kerr nonlinearity in a cold Rydberg gas
We report the experimental observation of a cross-Kerr nonlinearity in a free-space medium based on resonantly excited, interacting Rydberg atoms and electromagnetically induced transparency.

Entanglement concentration for arbitrary four-particle linear cluster states
Cluster states, whose model are a remarkably rich structure in measurement-based quantum computation, hold high degree of entanglement, while entanglement is very fragile during the process of transmission because of the inevitable interaction with the ...
