Entanglement transfer via cross-Kerr nonlinearity
We propose a scheme for realizing entanglement transfer based on the cross-Kerr nonlinear interaction between field-modes. By using this scheme the entanglement can be transferred from the field-states with discrete variables to the field-states with continuous variables.

Entanglement concentration for arbitrary four-particle linear cluster states
Cluster states, whose model are a remarkably rich structure in measurement-based quantum computation, hold high degree of entanglement, while entanglement is very fragile during the process of transmission because of the inevitable interaction with the ...

Photonic two-qubit parity gate with tiny cross–Kerr nonlinearity [PDF]
The cross-Kerr nonlinearity (XKNL) effect can induce efficient photon interactions in principle with which photonic multiqubit gates can be performed using far fewer physical resources than linear optical schemes. Unfortunately, it is extremely challenging to generate giant cross-Kerr nonlinearities.

Filtration mapping as complete Bell state analyzer for bosonic particles
In this paper, we present the approach to complete Bell state analysis based on filtering mapping. The key distinctive feature of this appoach is that it avoids complications related to using either hyperentanglement or representation of the Bell states ...

Polarization Rotation in Silicon Waveguides: Analytical Modeling and Applications
The efficient use of optical nonlinearities in silicon is crucial for the implementation of silicon-based photonic devises. In this paper, we present an approximate analytical study of nonlinear polarization rotation in silicon-on-insulator (SOI ...

The phase of darkness – measuring the phase of a dark pulse [PDF]
Dark optical solitons are solutions to the nonlinear Schrödinger equation in normal dispersion media with positive Kerr nonlinearity, exhibiting a discrete π phase jump. These solitons are valuable to applications within telecommunication.

Noise-resistant optomechanical entanglement via cross-Kerr effect
We propose a scheme to achieve entanglement between cavity mode and mechanical mode by breaking dark mode (DM) effect via cross-Kerr effect. This DM induced by the coupling of multiple degenerate mechanical modes to a common cavity mode, is decoupled ...
