Hydrology-Aware Contrastive Meta-Learning for Domain Generalization Hyperspectral Wetland Image Classification

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
Wetlands represent vital ecosystems requiring precise monitoring for conservation, with hyperspectral imaging serving as a crucial remote sensing technology. However, significant domain shifts caused by hydrological dynamics (e.g., tidal fluctuations and

Epigenetic heterogeneity and plasticity in therapy‐induced tumor states through single‐cell multi‐omics

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single‐cell multi‐omics reveals epigenetic heterogeneity across therapy‐adaptive tumor states, including quiescent/dormant, drug‐tolerant persister, and EMT‐like phenotypes. By linking regulatory features with state‐associated biomarkers, these approaches inform biomarker‐guided therapeutic strategies for evolving tumors.

Impact of depth-dependent optical attenuation on wavelength selection for spectroscopic photoacoustic imaging

open access: yesPhotoacoustics, 2018
An optical wavelength selection method based on the stability of the absorption cross-section matrix to improve spectroscopic photoacoustic (sPA) imaging was recently introduced. However, spatially-varying chromophore concentrations cause the wavelength-

Relational representation learning network for cross-spectral image patch matching

open access: yesInformation Fusion
Recently, feature relation learning has drawn widespread attention in cross-spectral image patch matching. However, existing related research focuses on extracting diverse relations between image patch features and ignores sufficient intrinsic feature representations of individual image patches.

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

Spatial and single‐nuclei transcriptomics reveals idiosyncratic and generic patterns in papillary and anaplastic thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Matched spatial transcriptomics and single‐nuclei RNA‐seq were generated for anaplastic and BRAFV600E papillary thyroid cancers revealing generic and tumor‐specific states occurring in cancer cells and in the tumor microenvironment. In this context, cancer dedifferentiation mirrored organoid maturation through ordered thyroid marker gain/loss ...

SIGMA: spectral-implicit guidance for Multi-Teacher adaptation in unsupervised cross-modality 3D medical image segmentation

open access: yesJournal of King Saud University: Computer and Information Sciences
Unsupervised domain adaptation (UDA) for three-dimensional (3D) cross-modality medical image segmentation is affected by domain shifts arising from heterogeneous imaging physics and acquisition protocols.

Circulating microRNA signatures of cachexia and cancer in Canis familiaris as a comparative oncology model for human disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating microRNAs as biomarkers of cachexia and sex‐specific cancer in senior dogs. In 25 client‐owned dogs, four circulating miRNAs (miR‐15a, miR‐15b, miR‐16, miR‐140) were downregulated in cachexia, with miR‐16 the strongest individual biomarker (AUC = 0.899).

Imaging through a scanner, darkly: spectral imaging for sentinel lymph node biopsies

open access: yes, 2012
Breast cancer is the single most prevalent form of cancer in the UK today, accounting for around 16% of all diagnoses, and around 31% of diagnoses in women. The survival rates are good.
