ABSTRACT Background Kaposiform lymphangiomatosis (KLA) is an aggressive complex lymphatic anomaly. Patients exhibit malformed lymphatic vessels and often develop hemorrhagic effusions and elevated angiopoietin‐2 (Ang‐2) levels. A somatic NRAS p.Q61R (NRASQ61R) mutation has been associated with KLA.

Consistency of cross validation for comparing regression procedures
Theoretical developments on cross validation (CV) have mainly focused on selecting one among a list of finite-dimensional models (e.g., subset or order selection in linear regression) or selecting a smoothing parameter (e.g., bandwidth for kernel ...

A theory of cross-validation error [PDF]
This paper presents a theory of error in cross-validation testing of algorithms for predicting real-valued attributes. The theory justifies the claim that predicting real-valued attributes requires balancing the conflicting demands of simplicity and ...

Procrustes Cross-Validation — a Bridge Between Cross-Validation and Independent Validation Set [PDF]
In this paper we propose a new approach for validation of chemometric models. It is based on k-fold cross-validation algorithm, but, in contrast to conventional cross-validation, our approach makes possible to create a new dataset, which carries sampling uncertainty estimated by the cross-validation procedure. This dataset, called pseudo-validation set,

ABSTRACT Background The management of clinically apparent single lesions or oligofocal nephroblastomatosis, a facultative precursor of nephroblastoma, remains debated. Methods We retrospectively analyzed 37 patients with clinically apparent single or oligofocal nephroblastomatosis (two to three lesions per kidney) among 2347 patients registered between

Exploratory data analysis in the context of data mining and resampling.
Today there are quite a few widespread misconceptions of exploratory data analysis (EDA). One of these misperceptions is that EDA is said to be opposed to statistical modeling.
