Cross-flow microfiltration of submicron microbial suspension
The mechanism of cross-flow microfiltration of submicron microbes is studied. Experiments are carried out using pseudomonas suspensions. The effects of operating conditions on the filtration performance are discussed. The results show that the filtration

Cross flow response of a cylindrical structure under local shear flow
The VIV (Vortex-Induced Vibration) analysis of a flexible cylindrical structure under locally strong shear flow is presented. The model is made of Teflon and has 9.5m length, 0.0127m diameter, and 0.001m wall thickness.

A flow field with a jet affected by a nonuniform cross flow.
Experimental results are reported on effects of a wall boundary layer on a flow created by a round turbulent jet injected perpendicularly through a plane wall. The data show that the wall boundary layer contributes to the formation of a swirling flow downstream of the jet together with a predominant negative pressure near the downstream edge of the jet

Conserved binding mode but diverse interfaces of MreC‐PBP2 interactions
The crystal structure of abMreC reveals a conserved two β‐barrel architecture and provides structural insights into its role within the bacterial elongasome. The abMreC–abPBP2 complex model identifies the molecular basis of MreC‐mediated PBP2 recognition, contributing to the regulation of peptidoglycan synthesis.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Investigating the effect of rotational degree of freedom on a circular cylinder at low reynolds number in cross flow [PDF]
Numerical simulations of Vortex-Induced Vibrations (VIV) of a circular cylinder in cross flow with a rotational degree of freedom about its axis have been carried out by means of a finite-volume method.

Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...
