Elevation reverses the effects of forest structure on folivory and leaf asymmetry

open access: yesFunctional Ecology, Volume 40, Issue 4, Page 1061-1073, April 2026.
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Centuries of timber production have homogenized many forests by reducing variation in canopy density and deadwood availability, with far‐reaching consequences for biodiversity and trophic interactions.

Structural response of fire-exposed cross-laminated timber beams under sustained loads [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Cross-laminated timber (CLT) is a popular construction material for low and medium-rise construction. However an architectural aspiration exists for tall mass timber buildings, and this is currently hindered by knowledge gaps and perceptions regarding ...

Numerical Modelling of a Cross-Laminated Timber-to-Concrete Dowel-Type Connection Using the Beam-on-Foundation Model

open access: yes, 2023
The aim of the research presented herein is to investigate the mechanical behaviour of cross-laminated timber (CLT)-to-concrete dowel-type connections. For reliable timber-concrete-composite structures, mechanical connections between the two construction
