Two-Step Contribution to Intermediate Energy (p,p') and (p,n) Reactions [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
We calculate the two-step contribution to (p,p') and (p,n) reactions at intermediate energy. We describe the motion of the incident nucleon with plane wave and compare the contribution from the two-step processes with that from the one-step processes. To

Origin of life: β‐sheet amyloid conformers as the primordial functional polymers on the early Earth and their role in the emergence of complex dynamic networks

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The amyloid world hypothesis of the origin‐of‐life posits that the first functional polymers on the early Earth were structurally stable cross‐β‐sheet‐based peptide amyloids capable of Darwinian‐like evolution. Peptide amyloids display self‐replication and information transfer, as well as catalytic, adaptive, and evolutive properties.

N-Vinylation of Imidazole and Benzimidazole with a Paramagnetic Vinyl Bromide

open access: yesMolbank, 2018
An N-vinylation of imidazole and benzimidazole with a paramagnetic vinyl bromide was investigated. Among the tested procedures, Pd-catalyzed reaction was the most powerful one.

Next-to-Leading Order Cross Sections for Tagged Reactions [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
We extend the phase space slicing method of Giele, Glover and Kosower for performing next-to-leading order jet cross section calculations in two important ways: we show how to include fragmentation functions and how to include massive particles.

The epithelial barrier theory proposes a comprehensive explanation for the origins of allergic and other chronic noncommunicable diseases

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Exposure to common noxious agents (1), including allergens, pollutants, and micro‐nanoplastics, can cause epithelial barrier damage (2) in our body's protective linings. This may trigger an immune response to our microbiome (3). The epithelial barrier theory explains how this process can lead to chronic noncommunicable diseases (4) affecting organs ...

Search of systematic behavior of breakup probability in reactions with weakly bound projectiles at energies around Coulomb barrier

open access: yes, 2012
Comparing the capture cross sections calculated without the breakup effect and experimental complete fusion cross sections, the breakup was analyzed in reactions with weakly bound projectiles $^{6,7,9}$Li, $^{9,11}$Be, and $^{6,8}$He.

Goodbye flat lymphoma biology

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Three‐dimensional (3D) biological systems have become key tools in lymphoma research, offering reliable in vitro and ex vivo platforms to explore pathogenesis and support precision medicine. This review highlights current 3D non‐Hodgkin lymphoma models, detailing their features, advantages, and limitations, and provides a broad perspective on future ...

Quasi-free (p,2p) and (p,pn) reactions with unstable nuclei [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We study (p,2p) and (p,pn) reactions at proton energies in the range of 100 MeV -- 1 GeV. Our purpose is to explore the most sensitive observables in unpolarized reactions with inverse kinematics involving radioactive nuclei.

From omics to AI—mapping the pathogenic pathways in type 2 diabetes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Integrating multi‐omics data with AI‐based modelling (unsupervised and supervised machine learning) identify optimal patient clusters, informing AI‐driven accurate risk stratification. Digital twins simulate individual trajectories in real time, guiding precision medicine by matching patients to targeted therapies.
