Pasture feeding improves the fatty acid composition of lamb muscle

The diet of lambs influences the nutritional quality of their meat. This study showed that pasture‐fed lamb contained significantly higher concentrations of beneficial omega‐3 fatty acids than lamb finished on concentrate diets. These long‐chain omega‐3 fatty acids are associated with improved cardiovascular health and other health benefits.

Following traumatic brain injury, indole‐3‐propionic acid (IPA) directly targets the aryl hydrocarbon receptor on astrocytes in the peri‐lesional cortex; this suppresses interferon regulatory factor 1‐driven transcription of the E3 ubiquitin ligase RFFL (ring finger and FYVE‐like domain containing E3 ubiquitin protein ligase).
