Abstract We introduce the notion of (pre)crossed module in a semiabelian category, and establish equivalences between internal reflexive graphs and precrossed modules, and between internal categories and crossed modules.

On Lie Algebra Crossed Modules [PDF]
This article constructs a crossed module corresponding to the generator of the third cohomology group with trivial coefficients of a complex simple Lie algebra. This generator reads as , constructed from the Lie bracket [,] and the Killing form . The construction is inspired by the corresponding construction for the Lie algebra of formal vector fields ...

Homotopies and Automorphisms of Crossed Modules of Groupoids
We give a detailed description of the structure of the actor 2-crossed module related to the automorphisms of a crossed module of groupoids. This generalises work of Brown and Gilbert for the case of crossed modules of groups, and part of this is needed for work on 2-dimensional holonomy to be developed elsewhere (see math.DG/0009082).

Crossed modules and doi-hopf modules
Israel Journal of Mathematics, 1997The main result of this paper is that crossed modules (also known as Yetter-Drinfeld modules) are particular cases of Doi's unified Hopf modules. A generalization of crossed modules is introduced to this end, and a generalization of the Drinfeld double is defined. The latter turns out to be isomorphic to a (generalized) smash product.

Modulation instability induced by cross-phase modulation
Physical Review Letters, 1987Modulation instability that leads to breakup of intense cw radiation into a train of ultrashort pulses during propagation in optical fibers occurs only in the presence of anomalous group-velocity dispersion. It is shown that a new kind of modulation instability can occur even in the normal-dispersion regime when two copropagating optical fields ...

Modulated cross-phase-modulation spectra
OSA Annual Meeting, 1993When a weak probe and a strong pump pulses propagate together in a material, coupled interactions occur through the third order nonlinearity. This process leads to the self-phase-modulation (SPM) and cross-phase-modulation (XPM). The spectral shift of XPM can be controlled by adjusting the time delay between the pump and probe pulses.1 When the pump ...

Cross-modulation in ring diode modulators
Proceedings of the IEEE, 1968Although intermodulation generation in ring diode medulators is the result of switching point interference and diode forward nonlinearity, cross-modulation is the result of the latter effect only. It is shown that the concept of variable trusconductance can be used to predict cross-modulation effects in ring diode modulators.

PULLBACK CROSSED MODULES OF ALGEBROIDS
2008In this paper, we present algebroids and crossed modules of algebroids. We also define pullbackcrossed module of algebroids.
