Complexation of oppositely charged polyelectrolytes: effect of ion pair formation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Complexation in symmetric solutions of oppositely charged polyelectrolytes is studied theoretically. We include polyion crosslinking due to formation of thermoreversible ionic pairs.

Stress Relaxation of Near-Critical Gels

open access: yes, 2000
The time-dependent stress relaxation for a Rouse model of a crosslinked polymer melt is completely determined by the spectrum of eigenvalues of the connectivity matrix. The latter has been computed analytically for a mean-field distribution of crosslinks.

Rapid Sintering of Porous Organic Polymer Powders Into Mechanically Strong Monoliths for Efficient CO2 Capture

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Spark plasma sintering enables rapid processing of porous organic polymer (POP) from fine powders to a freestanding and mechanically robust monolith. The sintering process retains the CO2 adsorption capacity and CO2/N2 selectivity, making the monolith more suitable as a solid sorbent for practical carbon capture applications.

Sustainable Durian Rind Carboxymethyl Cellulose/Poly(vinyl) Alcohol Hydrogels Synthesis for Enhancing Crosslinking and Release Kinetics Efficiency

open access: yesGels
This study developed hydrogels from durian rind-derived carboxymethyl cellulose (CMCd) blended with poly(vinyl) alcohol (PVA) for biomedical applications. The influence of NaOH concentration (10–60% w/v) on the degree of substitution (DS) of CMCd and the

Light‐Responsive Enzyme‐Loaded Nanoparticles for Tunable Adhesion and Mechanical Wound Contraction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a photoactivatable enzyme‐loaded mesoporous nanoparticle system (MPDA_PaTy) that enables light‐triggered tunable tissue adhesion and facilitates mechanical wound contraction. Controlled enzymatic crosslinking at tissue or hydrogel interfaces allows on‐demand adhesion.

Comparison of Three NMR Methods for Measuring Crosslink Density of Rubbers

open access: yesChinese Journal of Magnetic Resonance, 2017
NMR is a frequently used technique for measuring crosslink density of rubbers. In this work, three commonly used proton NMR methods for measuring crosslink density of rubbers[i.e., 1H double-quantum (DQ) NMR, 1H Hahn echo and 1H CPMG echo] were compared.
