Snap‐Through–Driven Liquid Crystal Elastomers for High‐Power Remote Microneedle Actuation Toward Smart Livestock Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A magnetically assisted snap‐through liquid crystal elastomer transforms photochemical deformation into a high‐power mechanical impulse, enabling remote microneedle actuation and highlighting its potential for future smart livestock intervention systems.

Synthesis and Characterization of Graft Copolymer Rice Straw Cellulose-Acrylamide Hydrogels Using Gamma Irradiation

open access: yesAtom Indonesia, 2013
Rice straw cellulose available as waste biomass was graft copolymerized with acrylamide monomer by simultaneous gamma irradiation as initiator. The effects of bleaching of cellulose and irradiation dose were evaluated.

Study on deformation mechanism of fibrin protofibril and fiber using hierarchical network model

open access: yesMaterials Research Express
Fibrin fibers represent the secondary structural units within the fibrin network, and their complex deformation mechanisms directly govern the unique mechanical behavior of blood clots.

Make‐Use‐Remake: Toward Indefinite Low‐Temperature Material Loops

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We introduce a regenerable materials platform built from microparticles bound by a temperature‐responsive polymer shell, enabling strong, processable structures from diverse feedstocks. The material is shaped at low temperatures (80°C) using common manufacturing methods and reprocessed repeatedly in the presence of water, demonstrating stable ...

The influence of crosslink characteristics on key properties of dynamically cured NR/PP blends

open access: yeseXPRESS Polymer Letters
Thermoplastic vulcanizates (TPVs) were prepared by blending natural rubber (NR) and polypropylene (PP) using dynamic sulfur curing systems with varying accelerator/sulfur ratios: 0.5/2.5, 1.5/1.5, and 2.5/0.5 phr, categorized as conventional (CV), semi ...

Synthesis of Thermally Stable Reactive Polyurethane and Its Physical Effects in Epoxy Composites

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2018
A flame retardant polyol (EP-DOPO) with epoxy functional groups was synthesized by reacting a 1,6-hexanediol glycidyl ether with a flame retardant 10-(2,5-dihydroxyphenyl)-10H-9-oxa-10-phospha-phenanthrene-10-oxide (DOPO).

Sulfation‐Tunable Peptide‐Glycosaminoglycan Hydrogels for Hematopoietic Stem and Progenitor Cell Expansion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Co‐assembly of rationally designed glycosaminoglycan‐binding peptides with sulfated glycosaminoglycans yields supramolecular hydrogels with tunable mechanics and matrix‐mediated cytokine retention. The glycosaminoglycans thereby act as cofactors, driving a coil‐to‐β‐sheet transition that triggers gelation.
