Caffeine degradation in water by gamma irradiation, ozonation and ozonation/gamma irradiation [PDF]

open access: yesNukleonika, 2014
Aqueous solutions of caffeine were treated with ozone and gamma irradiation. The amounts of remaining caffeine were determined after solid phase extraction as a function of absorbed dose and ozonation time.

Effects of Acute and Chronic Gamma Irradiation on the Cell Biology and Physiology of Rice Plants

open access: yesPlants, 2021
The response to gamma irradiation varies among plant species and is affected by the total irradiation dose and dose rate. In this study, we examined the immediate and ensuing responses to acute and chronic gamma irradiation in rice (Oryza sativa L ...

Gamma irradiation of HIV‐1 [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Research, 2001
AbstractThe potential for transmission of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) type 1 has created serious concern for the continued clinical use of bone and soft‐tissue allografts. Tissue banks have employed 1.5–2.5 Mrad for sterilization of bone and tendon allografts, which, according to the current literature, approaches the level at which the tissue ...

"INFLUENCE OF IONIZING RADIATION ON THE DIFFUSE REFLECTION SPECTRA OF STEATITE CERAMICS SNC "

open access: yesEurasian Physical Technical Journal, 2022
In this article, the radiation defects induced in steatite ceramics type- SNC- irradiated with high doses of gamma-rays of 60Co source and mixed reactor nо-gamma-irradiation were studied using optical spectroscopy, i.e. diffuse reflection method.

Gamma irradiation of hexafluorobenzene

open access: yesJournal of Research of the National Bureau of Standards Section A: Physics and Chemistry, 1960
Mixtures of hexafluorobenzene and benzene were irradiated in liquid phase by means of a Co60 gamma source at 20° and at 218° C. Perfluoroheptane and various binary mixtures involving perfluoroheptane, hexafluorobenzene, benzene, and cyclohexane were also irradiated at 20° C.

Gamma irradiation of fluorocarbon polymers

open access: yesJournal of Research of the National Bureau of Standards Section A: Physics and Chemistry, 1961
Several fluorocarbon polymers were irradiated with Co60 gamma radiation at doses up to 1022 ev/g. The polymers studied included polytetrafluoroethylene, polytrifluoroethylene, polychlorotrifluoroethylene, a copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene with hexafluoropropylene, and several rubbery vinylidene fluoride copolymers.
