The Frontiers of Aqueous Zinc–Iodine Batteries: A Comprehensive Review on Mechanisms, Optimization, and Industrial Prospects

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review provides an in‐depth understanding of all theoretical reaction mechanisms to date concerning zinc–iodine batteries. It revisits the inherent issues and solutions of zinc–iodine batteries from the perspective of industrial application. By integrating existing examples of energy storage applications, it identifies the challenges faced on the ...

På vei mot barnelitteraturens grense? Erlend Loes Kurtby (2008)

open access: yesBarnboken: Tidskrift för Barnlitteraturforskning, 2012
Toward the limit of children’s literature? Erlend Loe’s Kurtby (2008). Fiction for all ages, books that are intended for children and adult readers alike, became an important subgenre in Norwegian literature for young readers during the 1990s. One of the

USING A GENETIC ALGORITHM TO SOLVE THE COURSES TIMETABLING CREATION PROBLEM

open access: yesАвтоматизация технологических и бизнес-процессов, 2021
Creating of courses timetable is an extremely difficult, time-consuming task and usually takes a long time. In many educational institutions, the courses schedule is developed manually.

Enhanced Electromechanical Response in 1D Hybrid Perovskites: Coexistence of Normal and Relaxor Ferroelectric Phases

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The dynamic polarization reversal of coexisting normal and relaxor ferroelectrics in 1D TMAPbI₃ (tetramethylammonium, TMA) is deciphered through combined experimental and theoretical approaches. By bridging atomic‐scale motion, macroscopic polarization switching, and depolarization effects, a universal methodology is established to engineer next ...

FIGNL1 Inhibits Non-homologous Chromosome Association and Crossover Formation

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2022
Meiotic crossovers (COs) not only generate genetic diversity but also ensure the accuracy of homologous chromosome segregation. Here, we identified FIGNL1 as a new inhibitor for extra crossover formation in rice.

Ternary Transistors With Reconfigurable Polarities

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Polarity‐reconfigurable ternary transistors are demonstrated using black phosphorus homojunction with asymmetric contacts and split‐gate structures. Suppression of majority carrier injection, while Fowler–Nordheim tunneling of low‐density minority carriers persists, enables a well‐defined intermediate state with improved on/off ratios.

Digital speech hearing screening using a quick novel mobile hearing impairment assessment: an observational correlation study

open access: yesScientific Reports
By 2050, 1 in 4 people worldwide will be living with hearing impairment. We propose a digital Speech Hearing Screener (dSHS) using short nonsense word recognition to measure speech-hearing ability. The importance of hearing screening is increasing due to

Crossover scaling in two dimensions [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. E 56, 6540 (1997), 1997
We determine the scaling functions describing the crossover from Ising-like critical behavior to classical critical behavior in two-dimensional systems with a variable interaction range. Since this crossover spans several decades in the reduced temperature as well as in the finite-size crossover variable, it has up to now largely evaded a satisfactory ...

Temperature‐Enhanced Supramolecular Polymer Adhesion Provided by Concurrent Utilization of Calix[4]Pyrrole and Crown Ether Molecular Recognition

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Simultaneous utilization of calix[4]pyrrole‐ and crown ether‐based molecular recognition allows the construction of a high molecular weight alternating supramolecular polymer. This heat processible polymer can be used as a durable and reusable adhesive on glass and steel with temperature‐enhanced adhesion strength without the need for a solvent ...

Developing Improved Greedy Crossover to Solve Symmetric Traveling Salesman Problem [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
The Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) is one of the most famous optimization problems. Greedy crossover designed by Greffenstette et al, can be used while Symmetric TSP (STSP) is resolved by Genetic Algorithm (GA). Researchers have proposed several versions of greedy crossover. Here we propose improved version of it. We compare our greedy crossover with
