A Computationally Efficient Hybrid Framework for Polarimetric Calibration of Quad‐Pol SAR Data

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, 2021
Polarimetric Synthetic Aperture Radar (PolSAR) calibration is an essential preprocessing step that must be performed to ensure that the data quality is adequate. This, in turn, helps to minimize the propagation of errors in any further data processing or

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Integrative phenotyping analyses reveal the relevance of the phyB-PIF4 pathway in Arabidopsis thaliana reproductive organs at high ambient temperature

open access: yesBMC Plant Biology
Background The increasing ambient temperature significantly impacts plant growth, development, and reproduction. Uncovering the temperature-regulating mechanisms in plants is of high importance, for increasing our fundamental understanding of plant ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Advanced multi-nozzle electrohydrodynamic printing: mechanism, processing, and diverse applications at micro/nano-scale

open access: yesInternational Journal of Extreme Manufacturing
Electrohydrodynamic (EHD) jet printing represents a novel micro/nano-scale additive manufacturing process that utilises a high-voltage induced electric field between the nozzle and the substrate to print micro/nanoscale structures.

Slit-Robo signaling supports motor neuron avoidance of the spinal cord midline through DCC antagonism and other mechanisms

open access: yesFrontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology
Axon pathfinding and neuronal migration are orchestrated by attractive and repulsive guidance cues. In the mouse spinal cord, repulsion from Slit proteins through Robo family receptors and attraction to Netrin-1, mediated by the receptor DCC, control ...

Analysis on RLCG Parameter Matrix Extraction for Multi-Core Twisted Cable Based on Back Propagation Neural Network Algorithm

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
A new method based on back propagation (BP) neural network for extracting RLCG parameter matrix of multi-core twisted cable is presented. With the properly selected parameter matrix sample, the variation characteristics of the parameter matrix of the ...

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Reducing crosstalk between microstrip lines using CSR structure

open access: yesEngineering Reports
Aiming at the problem of crosstalk between microstrip lines, a method of reducing crosstalk by using cross‐shape resonators (CSR) structures is proposed.
