Crowd-Design: mapping of the crowd-based processes used by companies to develop products

open access: yesDesign e Tecnologia, 2017
From the term crowdsourcing, coined by Howe (2006), “crowd” prefixes appeared to nominate processes that occur through the Internet and with the crowd participation.

Crowd-Sourcing a Way to Sustainable Urban Logistics: What Factors Influence Enterprises’ Willingness to Implement Crowd Logistics?

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
The sharing economy has brought new opportunities to the logistics industry, which has created an emerging trend known as crowd logistics. Implementing this mode offers a basis for more sustainable urban logistics, but there is limited research on what ...

Near‐Infrared Emitting Lanthanide Catecholate Giant Single Crystals – Morphology Control and Photon Down‐Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Controlled syntheses of lanthanide coordination polymers based on the dihydroxybenzoquinone (DHBQ) organic linker afforded large single crystals of Ln‐DHBQ CPs (Ln = Yb, Nd). A novel structural variant of Yb‐DHBQ is identified by means of single crystal diffraction analysis.

Direction, Velocity, Merging Probabilities and Shape Descriptors for Crowd Behavior Analysis

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Descriptors are important for quantifying crowd behavior. The existing descriptors generally provide information about crowd density, i.e., number of people/objects present in a defined spatial area.

Automated Hate Speech Detection and the Problem of Offensive Language

open access: yes, 2017
A key challenge for automatic hate-speech detection on social media is the separation of hate speech from other instances of offensive language. Lexical detection methods tend to have low precision because they classify all messages containing particular

Imaging of Biphoton States: Fundamentals and Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Quantum states of two photons exhibit a rich polarization and spatial structure, which provides a fundamental resource of strongly correlated and entangled states. This review analyzes the physics of these intriguing properties and explores the various techniques and technologies available to measure them, including the state of the art of their ...

Toward a Mathematical Theory of Behavioral-Social Dynamics for Pedestrian Crowds [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This paper presents a new approach to behavioral-social dynamics of pedestrian crowds by suitable development of methods of the kinetic theory. It is shown how heterogeneous individual behaviors can modify the collective dynamics, as well as how local ...

Nanothermometry in Living Cells: Physical Limits, Conceptual and Material Challenges

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Heat and temperature are fundamental to life. When nanothermometers began probing regions as small as a living cell, they triggered controversial claims of large intracellular temperature gradients. We review physical constraints energy‐conservation, entropy production, thermodynamic fluctuations, and molecular dynamics.

A Realistic and New Approach for Crowd Density, Quantity, Types, and Anomaly Detection Using Effective Multi-Task Deep Learning Model

open access: yesIEEE Access
Quantitative, type, and anomaly information in crowd videos is critical for smart city and campus applications. Existing approaches generally focus on high-performance counting or anomaly detection within the scope of crowd analysis.
