Biolipid Film‐Fused Electrochemiluminescence for Multipurpose In Situ Bioassays

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An ECL‐emissive, membrane‐interactive scaffold was fabricated, and facilely fused with natural and non‐native phospholipids into multifactorial mimicries of cytomembranes and vesicles for in vitro representative membrane‐process probing. Such a biointerface‐based, state‐sensitive ECL paradigm not only pinpointed proximal phenomena, including channeling

On Equilibrium in Pure Stategies in Games with Many Players [PDF]

open access: yes
We introduce a framework of noncooperative games, allowing both countable sets of pure strategies and player types, in which players are characterized by their attributes and demonstrate that for all games with sufficiently many players, every mixed ...

Customizing Tactile Sensors via Machine Learning‐Driven Inverse Design

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Replicating the sophisticated sense of touch in artificial systems requires tactile sensors with precisely tailored properties. However, manually navigating the complex microstructure‐property relationship results in inefficient and suboptimal designs.

On the Crowding-Out Effects of Tax-Financed Charitable Contributions by the Government [PDF]

open access: yes
An important question in the literature on charitable contributions is the extent to which tax-financed contributions by the government crowd out private contributions.

Cells Dynamically Adapt Their Nuclear Volumes and Proliferation Rates During Single to Multicellular Transitions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
It is currently not well understood how cells regulate basic properties, e.g., volume and mechanics within dense multicellular environments like tumors. Here, we show that different cell types of cancer and also normal cells largely decrease their nuclear and cellular volumes in emerging cell clusters and that this is partly driven by cell cycle shifts.

"Government Spending and Growth Cycles: Fiscal Policy in a Dynamic Context" [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper the impact of fiscal policy is analyzed within the context of an endogenous growth and cycles model. The investigation shows the different situations in which government expenditure can lead to both crowding-in and crowding-out of output ...

Fixed‐Linkage Enabled Ultra‐Stable Ion Transport Channels in Membranes for Long‐Life Alkaline Flow Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Rigid fixed‐ethylene‐linked PBI membrane stabilizes ion‐transport channels, enabling high ionic conductivity and durable alkaline Zn─Fe flow batteries. ABSTRACT Alkaline zinc–iron redox flow batteries (Zn─Fe FBs) are promising candidates for developing high‐voltage and cost‐effective grid‐scale energy storage systems.

Youth labour markets in Spain: education, training and crowding-out. [PDF]

open access: yes
The stylised facts describing the evolution of youth labour markets in Spain can be characterised as a "high-skill, bad-job trap" where higher educated workers end up in semi or unskilled entry jobs while crowding out lower educated workers from that ...

Lyophilized Synthetic Platelets: In Vitro Characterization and in Vivo Evaluation in Mouse Thrombocytopenia Model

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Platelet transfusions to treat bleeding complications use donor‐derived platelets stored at room‐temperature, that have a shelf‐life of only 5–7 days due to bacterial contamination risks. Cold‐stored and freeze‐dried platelets are being investigated for extending shelf‐life, but these still have the inherent challenge of donor‐dependency.
