The Effects of Third‐Party Mediators' Identity and Avoidance of Right‐Wing News on Jewish‐Israeli Support for Conflict Resolution

open access: yesConflict Resolution Quarterly, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study focuses, in the context of the Israeli‐Palestinian conflict and the Israel‐Hamas war, on a specific pattern of news‐consumption—avoidance of hyper‐partisan right‐ wing news, while examining its consequences for perceptual‐cognitive biases that constitute barriers to conflict resolution.

Non‐monotonic jet pinch‐off induced by droplet impact on immiscible liquids

open access: yesDroplet, EarlyView.
The graphical abstract shows the evolution of the central jet following droplet impact and summarizes the non‐monotonic dependence of the critical Weber number on the dimensionless film thickness and Ohnesorge number. Abstract Droplet impact on immiscible liquids can generate a central jet whose pinch‐off behavior plays a crucial role in many advanced ...

Analytical stress solution framework for lined compressed air energy storage chambers and its application to safe burial depth determination and supporting effectiveness evaluation

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
An analytical framework delivers a closed‐form stress solution for lined compressed air energy storage chambers, enabling the determination of the minimum safe burial depth. The solution quantitatively evaluates lining support effectiveness, offering a reliable tool for chamber design and optimization.

Upper bound limit analysis of coral reef limestone cavern roof stability incorporating a tension‐shear failure mechanism with tensile‐strength cut‐off

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
For the roof of coral reef limestone caverns, a novel tension‐shear composite failure mechanism was developed. The most critical tensile crack model was identified using a hybrid optimization algorithm, and the stability of the cavern roof was analyzed accordingly.
