Ether‐Based Electrolytes and the Solvation Structure in Sodium Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Ether electrolytes enable high‐performance sodium‐ion batteries through their unique physicochemical properties, particularly distinctive solvation structures and co‐intercalation behavior. However, the localized solvation structure and its dynamic evolution during electrochemical processes remain a “black box”.

Electrochemical Oxidation of Catechol in the Presence of some Azacrown Ethers and Transition Metal Ions in Acetonitrile

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2009
The electrochemical oxidation of catechol (H2Q) (1) has been studied in the absence and presence of 1,10.diaza-18-crown-6 (DA18C6) (2a), 1,7-diaza-15-crown-5 (DA15C5) (2b) and aza-15-crown-5 (A15C5) (2c) and also, in the presence of some transition metal

Organomagnesium Crown Ethers and Their Binding Affinities with Li+, Na+, K+, Be2+, Mg2+, and Ca2+ Ions - a Theoretical Study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Novel organomagnesium crown ether molecules have been computationally characterized for the first time using density functional theory (DFT). Monomer units of MgC6 have been used as building blocks. The potential energy surface of the parent elemental

Crown Ether–Peptide Rotaxanes

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition
Abstract We report on the metal‐free active template synthesis of crown ether–peptide rotaxanes. A 24‐crown‐8 ring is sufficiently small that the side chains of canonical branched amino acids act as barriers that trap the macrocycle on the particular glycine residue used to assemble the rotaxane.

Graphite Co‐Intercalation Chemistry in Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesBatteries &Supercaps, Volume 8, Issue 3, March 2025.
Traditional intercalation chemistry in lithium‐ion batteries cannot allow sodium storage in graphite. The co‐intercalation chemistry changes the situation. It enables reversible and ultrafast sodium storage in graphite. Revisiting challenges and summarizing recent advances are of significant importance to exploit the full potential of graphite in ...

Lysosome‐Targeted Squaramide Anion Transporters

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Lysosome‐targeted squaramide anion transporters elicit different biological effects depending on the targeting group employed. ABSTRACT Targeting anion transporters to specific organelles has previously been shown to be an effective strategy to enhance their cytotoxicities against cancerous cell lines.

Research progress on lithium isotopes separation by chemical exchange with crown ethers decorated materials

open access: yesGreen Energy & Environment
The separation of lithium isotopes (6Li and 7Li) is of great importance for the nuclear industry. The lithium amalgam method is the only lithium isotopes separation process in industry, and the extensive use of mercury has raised concerns about its ...

Exploring Calixarene‐Based Pseudorotaxane Architectures: Threading Ammonium Axles With an Exo‐Rim π‐Functionalized Calix[6]Arene Macrocycle

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
This research presents a novel 1,4‐π‐functionalized calix[6]arene with enhanced interactions with dialkylammonium axles. We investigate threading behavior in CDCl3, highlighting how exo‐rim π‐functionalization affects binding affinity and stereoselectivity.

Metal‐Ion Regulated Light‐Free Z→E Isomerization of Azobenzene Glycomacrocycle

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Metal ion‐catalyzed Z→E isomerization of photoswitchable azobenzene glycomacrocycle: A new azobenzene‐based glycomacrocycle is capable of forming a 1:1 complex with divalent metal ions in both E‐ and Z‐isomers. The complexes undergo light‐free Z→E isomerization in a timescale spanning from seconds to weeks.
