First-Principles Study of Crown Ether and Crown Ether-Li Complex Interactions with Graphene

The Journal of Physical Chemistry C, 2015
Adsorption of molecules on graphene is a promising route to achieve novel functionalizations, which can lead to new devices. Density functional theory is used to calculate stabilities, electronic structures, charge transfer, and work function for a crown-4 ether (CE) molecule and a CE–Li (or CE–Li+) complex adsorbed on graphene.

Regioselective routes to disubstituted dibenzo crown ethers and their complexations

Organic & Biomolecular Chemistry, 2005
Two isomers of bis(carbomethoxybenzo)-24-crown-8 (cis-BCMB24C8, 1, and trans-BCMB24C8, 2) were synthesized regiospecifically with acceptable to excellent yields. Cyclization in the presence of a template reagent, KPF(6), led to an essentially quantitative yield of the potassium complex of the crown ether 1; the isolated cyclization yield of pure was a ...

Alkali metal complexation properties of resorcinarene bis-crown ethers: effect of the crown ether functionality and preorganization on complexation

Tetrahedron, 2008
Abstract The synthesis and characterization of tetramethoxy resorcinarene tribenzo-bis-crown ethers, m - and p -TBBC6 , are described. The effect of the added aromatic functionality in the crown ether bridge on the alkali metal complexation properties was investigated and compared to the properties of tetramethoxy resorcinarene bis-crown-5 ( BC5

Transition metal complexes of “crown” ethers

Inorganica Chimica Acta, 1977
Abstract Complexes have been prepared of 18-crown-6 with ted halides of manganese(II), cobalt(II) and nickel(II) from acetone solutions. With both manganese and nickel hydrated complexes are obtained which appear to undergo changes from square planar or octahedral to tetrahedral on heating.

A Stable Crown Ether Complex with a Noble‐Gas Compound

Angewandte Chemie, 2018
AbstractCrown ethers have been known for over 50 years, but no example of a complex between a noble‐gas compound and a crown ether or another polydentate ligand had previously been reported. Xenon trioxide is shown to react with 15‐crown‐5 to form the kinetically stable (CH2CH2O)5XeO3 adduct, which, in marked contrast with solid XeO3, does not detonate

Studies of crown ether complexes aryldiazonium ion complexes

Tetrahedron Letters, 1980
Abstract DNMR studies show that for complexation of aryldiazonium salts 21-crown-7 is the preferred host.

Complexation of the uranyl ion by crown ethers, diaza-crown ethers and analogous acyclic ligands in solution

Polyhedron, 1989
The complexation of uranyl ion, UO2+2, with several crown ethers (15C5; 18C6; 21C7; 24C8; 30C10) substituted or not by benzo or carboxylic groups and with several diaza-crown ethers (21; 22; 23 coronands) substituted or not by alkyl chains have been investigated in propylene carbonate and in acetonitrile (in the presence of 0.1 M tetraethylammonium ...

Synthesis and Complexation Properties of Some Novel Lariat-Crown Ethers.

ChemInform, 2003
Several new lariat-crown ethers bearing either bridged bisdioxine or tetraoxaadamantane units as chiral substituents are prepared by reacting the corresponding amino-crown ether derivatives with the dimeric alpha-oxoketene, the latter obtained by flash vacuum pyrolysis of a furan-2,3-dione precursor.

Halogen-substituted benzylamine crown ether inclusion complexes

Acta Crystallographica Section C Structural Chemistry
Noncovalent interactions have received much attention in the fields of supramolecular chemistry and crystal engineering. Hydrogen bonding and weak interaction forces affect crystal stacking. Crown-ether-based host–guest inclusion compounds with hydrogen bonding and weak intermolecular interaction forces deserve our attention.
