Transcription Factor DOF4.1 Regulates Seed Longevity in Arabidopsis via Seed Permeability and Modulation of Seed Storage Protein Accumulation

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2022
Seed longevity is modulated by multiple genetic factors in Arabidopsis thaliana. A previous genome-wide association study using the Elevated Partial Pressure of Oxygen (EPPO) aging assay pinpointed a genetic locus associated with this trait.

Seed-produced anti-globulin VHH-Fc antibodies retrieve globulin precursors in the insoluble fraction and modulate the Arabidopsis thaliana seed subcellular morphology [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Key message Nanobody-heavy chain (VHH-Fc) antibody formats have the potential to immunomodulate even highly accumulating proteins and provide a valuable tool to experimentally modulate the subcellular distribution of seed storage proteins.

Distribution of Napin and Cruciferin in Developing Rape Seed Embryos [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Physiology, 1992
The distribution of napin and cruciferin, the two major storage proteins in rape seed, Brassica napus, has been visualized during seed development by antibody staining of paraffin-embedded and sectioned seeds. The results indicate that the synthesis of both proteins during embryogenesis is strictly regulated with respect to time and tissue.

Shotgun proteomics of Brassica rapa seed proteins identifies vicilin as a major seed storage protein in the mature seed.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2021
Proteins make up a large percentage of the Brassica seed and are second only to the oil in economic importance with uses for both animal and human nutrition.

The Native Structure and Composition of the Cruciferin Complex in Brassica napus [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 2013
Globulins are an important group of seed storage proteins in dicotyledonous plants. They are synthesized during seed development, assembled into very compact protein complexes, and finally stored in protein storage vacuoles (PSVs). Here, we report a proteomic investigation on the native composition and structure of cruciferin, the 12 S globulin of ...

Study on Optimization and Activities of Rapeseed Meal Protein by Alkali-extraction and Acid-precipitation

open access: yesShipin gongye ke-ji, 2022
The aim of the study was to improve the yield of rapeseed meal protein and reduce the content of glucosinolate by optimizing the alkali-extraction and acid-precipitation process, and the bioactivities were also explored.

Logical Operation Based Literature Association with Genes and its application, PosMed. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
PosMed prioritizes candidate genes for positional cloning by employing our original database search engine GRASE, which uses an inferential process similar to an artificial neural network comprising documental neurons (or 'documentrons') that ...

Coherent multiple scattering in small-angle scattering experiments: modeling approximations based on the Born expansion. [PDF]

open access: yesJ Appl Crystallogr
A simple approximative approach is presented to model ultra small‐angle neutron scattering and ultra small‐angle X‐ray scattering data when coherent multiple scattering is present. The underlying principles, exact solutions – similar to Mie scattering – and approximations are presented. We start from an analytical formulation for the coherent multiple ...

Verification Report on the extraction and analysis of GM pollen DNA in honey [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Following the judgment of 06 September 2011 on GM honey by the European Court of Justice (legal case C-442-09), the European Union Reference Laboratory for Genetically Modified Food and Feed (EU-RL GMFF) established by Regulation (EC) No 1829/2003 ...
