ChemistryOpen, EarlyView.This paper presents a facile method for the conversion of N‐acetylglucosamine (NAG) to 3‐acetamido‐5‐acetylfuran (3A5AF), a potential platform chemical, within protic ionic liquid systems. Reaction optimization, 3A5AF isolation, green metrics and the recyclability and scalability of selected systems are discussed.

People and Nature, EarlyView.Abstract Our paper highlights the limitations of the framework used by many conservation‐focused programmes that incorporate food security objectives. This framework encourages the substitution of wild proteins with domestic proteins by promoting animal farming in communities located near conservation areas.
