Frischeregime: Biopolitik im Zeitalter der kryogenen Kultur.

open access: yesGlocalism: Journal of Culture, Politics and Innovation, 2014
Feeding people means producing population. Biotechnology, encompassing food production as well as assisted reproductive technology (ART), currently emerges as a most important apparatus (dispositif) of governing populations.

Optimizing Cryopreservation: The Effect of MitoTEMPO and Glycerol Ratios on Ram Semen Quality After Freezing and Thawing

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 11, Issue 4, July 2025.
After the experimental groups were formed in the pooled semen, they were cooled, frozen and stored in liquid nitrogen for 24 h. Then, motility and kinematic parameters were examined by phase contrast microscopy. Spermatozoon DNA integrity, MMP, Acrosomal damage and live spermatozoon ratio were analysed with a flow cytometer.

Cryopreservation: Methods, equipment and critical concerns [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The technique of cryopreservation aims to maintain the biological samples in a metabolic suspension state, by which all chemical, physical and biological changes are diminished.

Retrospective study: Laser excision versus combined laser, cryosurgery and intralesional 5‐fluorouracil in the treatment of equine sarcoids

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Education, Volume 37, Issue 7, Page 353-362, July 2025.
Summary Background Laser excision is used routinely in the treatment of sarcoids but may be ineffective in cases where complete excision cannot be achieved. A multimodal approach is warranted in these cases. 5‐FU may improve the lethal effect of cryosurgery as an adjunct to laser excision.

Pregnancy and delivery rates after vitrification of in vitro-produced Nelore (Bos indicus) embryos under field conditions

open access: yesRevista Colombiana de Ciencias Pecuarias, 2019
Background: Cryopreservation preserves cellular viability under low temperatures, resulting in diminished intracellular enzymatic activity and reduced cellular metabolism that ultimately allows preserving genetic material for indefinite periods of time ...

Subnormothermic Perfusion in the Isolated Rat Liver Preserves the Antioxidant Glutathione and Enhances the Function of the Ubiquitin Proteasome System. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The reduction of oxidative stress is suggested to be one of the main mechanisms to explain the benefits of subnormothermic perfusion against ischemic liver damage. In this study we investigated the early cellular mechanisms induced in isolated rat livers

Influence of Three Combinations of Cryoprotectants and Two Warming Temperatures on Cellular Morphology, Morphometry and Mitochondrial Activity of Vitrified Canine Testicles

open access: yesReproduction in Domestic Animals, Volume 60, Issue 5, May 2025.
ABSTRACT High concentrations of cryoprotectants required for testicular vitrification result in a toxic environment for cells. To mitigate this issue, a suitable alternative is to combine cryoprotectants. The temperature for warming a vitrified sample is also important to assure cell viability.

Haematological malignancies during pregnancy: a systematic review of necessary services in the Australian context

open access: yesInternal Medicine Journal, Volume 55, Issue 3, Page 393-406, March 2025.
Abstract Background Haematological malignancies diagnosed during pregnancy are rare, with increasing incidence, presenting unique therapeutic, social and ethical challenges for treating teams, patients and their family. There are no national guidelines regarding appropriate referral pathways, resources and services for the management of these patients.
