Toward a Consensus Characterization Protocol for Organic Thermoelectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 14, 6 March 2026.
We advocate a common consensus on accurate and standardized reporting of performance metrics in the field of organic thermoelectrics. We summarize prevalent issues in the literature and propose a pre‐submission checklist to support the publication of reproducible results.

Ecosystem‐Centered Robot Design: Toward Ecoresorbable Sustainability Robots (ESRs)

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 15, 13 March 2026.
Robots exploring natural ecosystems can support monitoring and conservation, but must adopt ecosystem‐centered design to avoid pollution, waste, and damage. This review proposes guidelines for co‐designing ecoresorbable sustainability robots (ESRs), uniting materials, robotics, and ecological contexts in a single framework.

Cryogels: Morphological, structural and adsorption characterisation [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Colloid and Interface Science, 2013
Experimental results on polymer, protein, and composite cryogels and data treatment methods used for morphological, textural, structural, adsorption and diffusion characterisation of the materials are analysed and compared. Treatment of microscopic images with specific software gives quantitative structural information on both native cryogels and ...

Activated carbon prepared from coffee pulp: potential adsorbent of organic contaminants in aqueous solution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The processing of coffee beans generates large amounts of solid and liquid residues. The solid residues (pulp, husk and parchment) represent a serious environmental problem and do not have an adequate destination.

Beyond Imperfect Match: Silicon/Graphite Hybrid Anodes for High‐Energy–Density Lithium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 16, Issue 10, 11 March 2026.
Silicon/graphite (Si/Gr) hybrid anodes are limited by Si's large volume change and mismatch with Gr. This review offers mechanistic insights into imperfectly matched Si/Gr hybrid anodes, elucidating heterogeneous lithiation behavior and interfacial failure pathways, and thereby informing the design of durable, high‐energy–density lithium‐ion batteries.
