Hierarchical MXene‐Derived NTP/C Nanohybrids for Cryogenic Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A hierarchical MXene‐derived NaTi2(PO4)3/C nanohybrid enables efficient sodium‐ion storage down to −40°C by integrating fast ion–electron transport pathways with an ether‐based electrolyte. The system promotes dominant pseudocapacitive behavior and forms a robust inorganic‐rich SEI, collectively mitigating kinetic and interfacial limitations, thereby ...

Adaptable Covalent Organic Framework‐Hydrogel Microneedles for Glucose‐Responsive Isoliquiritigenin Delivery in Diabetic Wound Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We develop a covalent organic framework‐loaded Traditional Chinese Medicine monomer nanodrug delivery system (ISL@bCOF) via boron‐oxygen bonds, a smart response to glucose for delivering AI‐driven isoliquiritigenin (ISL) targeting ZBP1. This dynamic release mechanism, combined with transdermal delivery technology via potent microneedles, can modulate ...

Analytical Modeling of Energy and Efficiency of Cryogenic Energy Storage Plant Using Various Working Fluids to Identify Best One for Load Shifting of Nuclear Power Plant and Renewable Energy Sources

open access: yes, 2019
Cryogenic energy storage (CES) systems are good electricity storage method. In CES systems, excess current is used to liquefy gas. Liquid (cryogen) can be stored in large cryogenic tanks for a long time.

Strain Engineering of Magnetoresistance and Magnetic Anisotropy in CrSBr

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Biaxial compressive strain significantly enhances magnetoresistance and critical saturation fields in thin flakes of the 2D magnet CrSBr, along all three crystallographic axes. First‐principles calculations link these effects to strain‐induced increases in exchange interactions and magnetic anisotropy.

Small-scale demonstrator of a cold thermal store for liquid air energy storage [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Intermittency of renewable energy supply causes an issue for grid balancing, as electricity generation is not easily controllable. A method to balance power supply and demand is to store energy during low-demand periods and use it at high demand ...
