Sequence Analysis of Cryphonectria hypovirus 1 in Croatia

2016
Cryphonectria hypovirus 1 (CHV1) is an RNA mycovirus that infects the chestnut blight fungus Cryphonectria parasitica. CHV1 infection reduces virulence of C. parasitica towards chestnut trees and causes recovery . It is assumed that CHV1 was introduced together with its host to Europe from Asia and then spread throughout C. parasitica populations. CHV1

Variation in virulence of Cryphonectria hypovirus 1 in Macedonia

Forest Pathology, 2011
SummaryWe investigated variation in virulence of Cryphonectria hypovirus 1 (CHV‐1) to the chestnut blight fungus, Cryphonectria parasitica, in Macedonia by inoculating chestnut stems in the field. We inoculated trees with two isolates of C. parasitica, each infected with one of five isolates of CHV‐1, four of which were the same for both fungal ...

The role of autophagy in Cryphonectria hypovirus 1 (CHV1) infection in Cryphonectria parasitica.

2013
The interaction between Cryphonectria parasitica, the causal agent of chestnut blight, and Cryphonectria hypovirus 1 (CHV1) results in fungal hypovirulence associated with alterations of fungal development, reduced sporulation and pigmentation, accumulation of cytosolic vesicles. The role of these vesicles is to support CHV1 maintenance and replication,

Genetic variation and virulence of Cryphonectria hypovirus (CHV-1) from Croatia

2011
Chryphonectria hypovirus 1 (CHV-1) is a successful biological control agent for the chestnut blight fungus Cryphonectria parasitica, which has been introduced into Croatia in 1950s. In order to investigate the incidence and the genetic variation of CHV-1, we sampled 338 isolates of C. parasitica from 10 Croatian chestnut populations. Hypovirus-infected

Genetic Diversity of Cryphonectria hypovirus 1 in China, Japan and Italy

Journal of Phytopathology, 2007
AbstractThe aim of this study was to examine the origin of Cryphonectria hypovirus 1 (CHV1) which infects chestnut blight fungus, Cryphonectria parasitica. The genetic diversity of 39 CHV1 isolates from China, Japan and Italy was assessed by combining sequencing and restriction fragment length polymorphic (RFLP) experiments.

Biological control of chestnut blight: an interplay between chestnut, fungus Cryphonectria parasitica and Cryphonectria hypovirus 1

2016
Chestnut blight is a disease caused by the fungus Cryphonectria parasitica Murrill Barr. This aggressive ascomycete infects bark and cambium of the sweet chestnut trees through wounds, and induces bark cankers which can lead to dieback of the distal parts of the plant, after girdling branches or the entire tree trunk (Heiniger & Rigling, 1994).

Raznolikost virusa Cryphonectria hypovirus 1 na području Kašta

2018
