PRIMATEs is a family of authenticated encryption design submitted to competition for authenticated encryption: security, applicability, and robustness. The three modes of operation in PRIMATEs family are: APE, HANUMAN, GIBBON with security levels: 80, 120 bits. APE is robust despite the nonce misusing.

Forkciphers are a new kind of primitive proposed recently by Andreeva et al. for efficient encryption and authentication of small messages. They fork the middle state of a cipher and encrypt it twice under two smaller independent permutations. Thus, forkciphers produce two output blocks in one primitive call.

We present an attack on the ORYX stream cipher that requires only 25-27 bytes of known plaintext and has time complexity of 216. This attack directly recovers the full 96 bit internal state of ORYX, regardless of the key schedule. We also extend these techniques to show how to break ORYX even under a ciphertext-only model. As the ORYX cipher is used to

Sfinks is an LFSR-based stream cipher submitted to ECRYPT call for stream ciphers by Braeken, Lano, Preneel et al. The designers of Sfinks do not include any real protection against algebraic attacks other than the so called “Algebraic Immunity”, that relates to the complexity of a simple algebraic attack, and ignores more elaborate attacks.

WIDEA is a family of block ciphers designed by Junod and Macchetti in 2009 as an extension of IDEA to larger block sizes (256 and 512 bits for the main instances WIDEA-\(4\) and WIDEA-\(8\)) and larger key sizes (512 and 1024 bits, respectively). WIDEA-\(w\) is composed of \(w\) parallel copies of the IDEA block cipher, with an MDS matrix to provide ...
