Exploring the Parasite Biodiversity in Climbing Perch (Anabas testudineus) in Buriram, Thailand: Morphological‐Based Characterization [PDF]
Anabas testudineus is an amphibious freshwater fish species native to Thailand, which is afflicted by protozoan and metazoan infections. This study was aimed at identifying the presence of parasites in A. testudineus from Thung Lam Natural Reservoir in Buriram Province, Thailand, between November 2022 and January 2023.

A Comparative Study of the Common Protozoan Parasites of Clarias gariepinus from the Wild and Cultured Environments in Benue State, Nigeria. [PDF]
A total of one hundred and twenty Clarias gariepinus comprising 30 dead and 30 live fishes were examined for protozoan parasites infestation, sixty each from the wild and a pond (cultured environment) over a period of six months. Ichthyophthirius multifiliis was the most common protozoan parasites found in C.

Immunological and Therapeutic Strategies against Salmonid Cryptobiosis [PDF]
Salmonid cryptobiosis is caused by the haemoflagellate, Cryptobia salmositica. Clinical signs of the disease in salmon (Oncorhynchus spp.) include exophthalmia, general oedema, abdominal distension with ascites, anaemia, and anorexia. The disease‐causing factor is a metalloprotease and the monoclonal antibody (mAb‐001) against it is therapeutic.

Pankinetoplast DNA structure in a primitive bodonid flagellate, Cryptobia helicis [PDF]
The mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) of a primitive kinetoplastid flagellate Cryptobia helicis is composed of 4.2 kb minicircles and 43 kb maxicircles. 85% and 6% of the minicircles are in the form of supercoiled (SC) and relaxed (OC) monomers, respectively. The remaining minicircles (9%) constitute catenated oligomers composed of both the SC and OC molecules.

Host‐Parasite Interactions in Some Fish Species
Host‐parasite interactions are complex, compounded by factors that are capable of shifting the balance in either direction. The host′s age, behaviour, immunological status, and environmental change can affect the association that is beneficial to the host whereas evasion of the host’s immune response favours the parasite.

Phylogeny of the kinetoplastida: taxonomic problems and insights into the evolution of parasitism
To further investigate phylogeny of kinetoplastid protozoa, the sequences of small subunit (18S) ribosomal RNA of nine bodonid isolates and ten isolates of insect trypanosomatids have been determined.
