Following the clinical suspicion for fungal keratitis (FK), the corneal samples were collected by penetrating keratoplasty (PK) from the patients. Specimens were prepared by microtome and were stained by hematoxylin and eosin (H&E), periodic acid schiff (PAS) stainings.

Morphology and physiology of strains of Cryptococcus laurentii var. magnus and C. albidus var. albidus isolated from winter wheat seeds was studied. It was concluded on the basis of morphological similarity that these fungi were closely related.
