Physica Status Solidi (a), 1994Continuing three recent papers the basic principles of a theory to explain the occurrence of faces to be indexed with four integers (hklm) occurring on modulated crystals are explained. The theory is rooted in the higher than three-dimensional crystallography of Janner, Janssen, and de Wolff.

The morphology of anthracene crystals
Journal of Crystal Growth, 1967The prominent faces of anthracene single crystals grown from solution or from the vapour are those which correspond to planes with small reticular areas. The basal plane is usually dominant with the {110}, {101}, {111}, {112}, and {201} planes occurring to varying degrees depending on the mode of growth.

Dehydration of nigeran crystals: Crystal structure and morphological aspects
Journal of Molecular Biology, 1979Abstract The crystal structure of anhydrous nigeran, poly[(1 → 3)-α- d -maltose], obtained from Penicillium crustosum has been determined by a combined electron diffraction. X-ray diffraction and packing analysis. The electron diffraction pattern from solution-grown single crystals shows some (h k I) reflections in the baseplane pattern.
