Exploring Dipolar Dynamics and Ionic Transport in Metal‐Organic Frameworks: Experimental and Theoretical Insights

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, the interplay of dipolar dynamics and ionic charge transport in MOF compounds is investigated. Synthesizing the novel structure CFA‐25 with integrated freely rotating dipolar groups, local and macroscopic effects, including interactions with Cs cations are explored.

Construction of Mechanical Constitutive Model of A508-Ⅲ Steel Coupled Crystal Orientation with Size Effect at Room Temperature

open access: yesYuanzineng kexue jishu, 2022
Standard specimens are usually used to reflect the mechanical properties of materials. However, because of the size effect between standard specimens and small size specimens, neither the repeatability nor accuracy obtained from small size specimens is ...

The influence of primary and secondary orientations on the elastic response of a nickel-base single-crystal superalloy [PDF]

open access: yes
The influence of primary orientation on the elastic response of a (001)-oriented nickel-base single-crystal superalloy, PWA 1480, was investigated under mechanical, thermal, and combined thermal and mechanical loading conditions using finite element ...

Unique Performance Considerations for Printable Organic Semiconductor and Perovskite Radiation Detectors: Toward Consensus on Best Practice Evaluation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A lack of standard approaches for testing and reporting the performance of metal halide perovskites and organic semiconductor radiation detectors has resulted in inconsistent interpretation of performance parameters, impeding progress in the field. This Perspective recommends key metrics and experimental details, which are suggested for reporting in ...

Observation of metastable hcp solid helium

open access: yes, 2011
We have produced and observed metastable solid helium-4 below its melting pressure between 1.1 K and 1.4 K. This is achieved by an intense pressure wave carefully focused inside a crystal of known orientation. An accurate density map of the focal zone is

Organic Electrochemical Transistor Channel Materials: Copolymerization Versus Physical Mixing of Glycolated and Alkoxylated Polymers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work discusses the use of blended channel materials in OECTs. It explores how mixing glycolated and alkoxylated polymers in various ratios offers a simpler and more efficient route to tuning OECT properties. The performance of the polymer blends is compared to the corresponding copolymers, demonstrating similar OECT characteristics, swelling ...

Anisotropic backscatter in ice-penetrating radar data: potential mechanisms and implications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Airborne and ground-based radar have been used extensively in the past to measure ice thickness and to investigate the internal structure of ice sheets in terms of layering.

Anisotropic shear melting and recrystallization of a two-dimensional complex (dusty) plasma

open access: yes, 2013
A two-dimensional plasma crystal was melted by suddenly applying localized shear stress. A stripe of particles in the crystal was pushed by the radiation pressure force of a laser beam.

Intermolecular Interactions as Driving Force of Increasing Multiphoton Absorption in a Perylene Diimide‐Based Coordination Polymer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study uncovers the unexplored role of intermolecular interactions in multiphoton absorption in coordination polymers. By analyzing [Zn2tpda(DMA)2(DMF)0.3], it shows how the electronic coupling of the chromophores and confinement in the MOF enhance two‐and three‐photon absorption.

Investigation of Gallium Arsenide Deformation Anisotropy during Nanopolishing via Molecular Dynamics Simulation

open access: yesMicromachines
Crystal orientation significantly influences deformation during nanopolishing due to crystal anisotropy. In this work, molecular dynamics (MD) simulations were employed to examine the process of surface generation and subsurface damage.
