The Subgingival Host–Microbial Landscape in Mothers With Periodontitis and Their At‐Risk Offspring
ABSTRACT Aim To evaluate the subgingival proteome and microbiome of mothers with periodontitis and their offspring, thereby assessing signatures of periodontal diseases. Methods Forty participants in four groups were included: mothers with periodontitis and their offspring, as well as periodontally healthy mothers and their offspring.

Alpha B-crystallin is a new prognostic marker for laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma
Background Alpha B-crystallin (αB-crystallin) has been suggested to play an important role in the development of solid tumors. However, the association between αB-crystallin expression and clinicopathological characteristics of human laryngeal carcinoma ...

Interactive domains in the molecular chaperone human alphaB crystallin modulate microtubule assembly and disassembly. [PDF]
Small heat shock proteins regulate microtubule assembly during cell proliferation and in response to stress through interactions that are poorly understood.Novel functions for five interactive sequences in the small heat shock protein and molecular ...

Mitochondrial Adaptation to Mechanical Stress in Cardiac Ageing and Disease
Mechanical forces shape the heart's energy factories. This review explores how mitochondria in cardiac cells sense and respond to biomechanical stress, altering their structure, positioning, and metabolism. By linking mechanical cues to mitochondrial adaptation, the article highlights pathways driving heart disease and points to new strategies for ...

Unprecedented Nitrite‐Dependent Aromatic Amination to Synthesize 2,4‐Diamino‐3‐Hydroxybenzoic Acid
By comparing the biosynthetic gene clusters for natural products with 2,4‐diamino‐3‐hydroxybenzoic acid (2,4,3‐DAHBA) moiety and heterologous expression in Streptomyces albus, we identified nine genes required for the biosynthesis of 2,4,3‐DAHBA, including nitrite biosynthesis genes.

Influence of Thermal Perturbation of the Oligomeric Size of -Crystallin on its Chaperone Function – A Biophysical Study [PDF]
-Crystallin is the major protein component of the vertebrate eye lens and is composed of two subunits A- and B-, 20 kDa each having 57% sequence homology between them. Both subunits associate to form large oligomer of 800 kDa average molecular weight. It

Investigating the Role of Zebrafish Retinoschisin Homologs Rs1a and Rs1b During Retinal Development
ABSTRACT Deficiency in the retinoschisin protein (RS1) causes X‐linked juvenile retinoschisis (XLRS), a retinal degenerative disease that disrupts retinal layers and forms cystic cavities. In addition to its structural function, RS1 is believed to play a role in retinal development.

CRYβA3/A1-Crystallin Knockout Develops Nuclear Cataract and Causes Impaired Lysosomal Cargo Clearance and Calpain Activation. [PDF]
βA3/A1-crystallin is an abundant structural protein of the lens that is very critical for lens function. Many different genetic mutations have been shown to associate with different types of cataracts in humans and in animal models. βA3/A1-crystallin has
