Structural stability during remelting of foundry binary alloys
A nanostructural mechanism of structural stability during remelting of foundry binary alloys has been developed. This mechanism is determined by the stability of the centers of crystallization of microcrystals of α‑phases and β‑phases.

Fostering Innovation: Streamlining Magnetocaloric Materials Research by Digitalization
Magnetocaloric cooling (MCE) is an environmentally friendly refrigeration method with great potential. Optimizing MCE materials involves the preparation and screening of large quantities of samples, which in turn generates a large amount of data. A digitalization approach is presented that uses ontologies, knowledge graphs, and digital workflows to ...

Creep‐Induced Microstructural Evolution in an A2‐B2 Superalloy
A 27.3Ta‐27.3Mo‐27.3Ti‐8Cr‐10Al (at.%) refractory high‐entropy alloy with precipitation‐strengthened A2‐B2 microstructure was studied by creep tests at 1030°C, which demonstrate a transition in deformation mechanisms in the range of 100–150 MPa applied stress. This is associated with changes in dislocation–precipitate interactions. Relevant deformation

Crystal centering is a key step in macromolecular X-ray crystallography experiments. A new method using image-processing and machine-vision techniques allows the centering of small crystals in the X-ray beam. This method positions crystals even when the loop is initially out of the camera's field of view and adapts to the difficulty of the experiment ...

Mechanisms of influence of modifiers on crystallization of tin and aluminium bronzes
It has been shown that elementary crystalline cells of α‑phases of tin, aluminum bronzes and main modifying phases do not correspond to the principle of structural and dimensional correspondence of Dankov‑Konobeevsky.

NANOSTRUCTURAL PROCESSES OF MELTING AND MOULDING OF STEEL
It is shown that melting and molding of steel are difficult physical and chemical nanostructural processes. In them the major role is played by the centers of crystallization of dendrites of austenite, austenite nanocrystals, the dissolved and adsorbed ...
