Coarse-grained simulations of flow-induced nucleation in semi-crystalline polymers
We perform kinetic Monte Carlo simulations of flow-induced nucleation in polymer melts with an algorithm that is tractable even at low undercooling. The configuration of the non-crystallized chains under flow is computed with a recent non-linear tube ...

Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Kinetic Analysis of Freeze-Thaw Stability of Mayonnaise
Kinetic analysis was used to study the destabilization of mayonnaise by focusing on the fat crystals. Mayonnaise prepared from rapeseed oil and soybean oil was stored at temperatures ranging from −20 to −40 °C. The destabilization kinetic

The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Optimization of crystal nucleation close to a metastable fluid-fluid phase transition [PDF]
The presence of a metastable fluid-fluid critical point is thought to dramatically influence the crystallization pathway, increasing the nucleation rate by many orders of magnitude over the predictions of classical nucleation theory.

Crystallization kinetics of basalt glass
The crystallization behaviour of basalt glass at elevated temperatures was studied using glass samples prepared by melting the natural basalt rock from the Thrace region of Turkiye. DTA and XRD analysis revealed the crystallization of augite [(Ca Fe Mg) SiO3 at 800 °C.

This study presents a reversible temperature sensor with high switching ratio, ∼103. The device is fabricated using PET‐ITO and carbon nanotube dispersions in alkane. Considering its application in cold chain logistics, a proof‐of‐concept with LED is showcased. Thus, a temperature drop below the threshold temperature (crystallization temperature of the

Pulsations of massive ZZ Ceti stars with carbon/oxygen and oxygen/neon cores [PDF]
We explore the adiabatic pulsational properties of massive white dwarf stars with hydrogen-rich envelopes and oxygen/neon and carbon/oxygen cores. To this end, we compute the cooling of massive white dwarf models for both core compositions taking into ...
