Accessing Metal‐Containing Species in Tin–Lead Perovskite Precursor Solutions via Molecular Strategies Guided by the Hard–Soft Acid–Base Principle

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Molecular strategies guided by the hard–soft acid–base (HSAB) principle enable precise control over metal‐based species in perovskite precursor solutions. This approach enhances the quality of narrow‐bandgap (1.26 eV) mixed tin–lead perovskite films and improves the performance of the resulting solar cell devices.

Synthesis and Application of Bioactive N‐Functionalized Aziridines

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
This review discusses modern synthetic methods for the preparation of aziridine‐containing small molecules, including biocatalytic, electrocatalytic, and photocatalytic strategies. We highlight the compatibility of various synthetic methods with control of the exocyclic N‐substituent.

Activation of a Secondary‐Messenger Receptor via Allosteric Modulation of a Dynamic Conformational Ensemble

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Intrinsically disordered loops within globular protein domains have long escaped structural biology. Here, Söldner et al. show that despite this disorder, an allosteric modulation is exerted in a secondary‐messenger receptor by binding of its secondary messenger.
