Is a Malleable Active Site Loop the Key to High Substrate Promiscuity? Hybrid, Biocatalytic Route to Structurally Diverse Taxoid Side Chains with Remarkable Dual Stereocontrol

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A highly stereoselective, dynamic reductive kinetic resolution (DYRKR) entry into myriad Taxotere‐like side chains with Clostridium acetobutylicum alcohol dehydrogenase (CaADH) enzyme is reported. Follow‐on cross couplings expand the structural diversity of the library (36 total examples).

Self‐optimizing Cobalt Tungsten Oxide Electrocatalysts toward Enhanced Oxygen Evolution in Alkaline Media

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Progressively enhanced oxygen evolution is achieved by self‐optimization of cobalt tungsten oxide deposited on lab‐synthesized copper oxide substrate. Experimental data proved dynamic compositional / structural evolution while theoretical calculation revealed active site adaptation.

Microscale Tattooing of Hydrogels and Cells: Benzoxaborole‐Driven Microcontact Printing (µCP) on Glycosylated Surfaces

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Accepted Article.
Microcontact printing (µCP) is a widely used technique for microscale surface patterning. In this study, we present a polymer‐supported µCP method for the patterning of (bioactive) glycosylated surfaces under hydrated conditions. Patterning is achieved by direct contact with a grooved polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) stamp, whose surface was grafted with a ...
